The Post Graduate Government College for Girls

was established in July 1956 and in the 54^th year of its proud existence has continued to produce students who have excelled in academics, sports and cultural fields. The college motto “Courage to Know” inspires the students to strive for and seek that which is best in thought, word and deed. In recognition of its outstanding all-round performance, the college has been accredited with A Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

We offer graduation courses in Humanities, Science, Commerce, Media Studies and Computer Applications. Post-Graduate courses are offered in six subjects and though these courses are relatively new, our students have fared very well in the university examinations. Every academic year our students win a number of merit positions in the Panjab University examinations. In addition to this our students excel in various extra-curricular activities, bringing home prizes and trophies from inter-college and inter-university competitions. We offer Merit Scholarships and Scholarships for the underprivileged. Our college faculty consists of some of the best minds in different disciplines which keep pace with the ever widening frontiers of knowledge.
