Each hostel has a resident warden, a visiting lady doctor, and a permanent staff nurse. The resident students also have an annual health check up by a general physician, and dental and eye check up by a team of doctors. Hostellers participate enthusiastically in various celebrations such as Freshers party, Independence Day, Lohri, Republic day etc. This year the hostel dining halls have been refurbished and new utensils are provided. The common rooms of the hostels have been given new Sony music systems.</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5>The college hostel has as many as <em>160</em> seats for new admission cases. In addition to these seats, the college offers an arrangement of hostel accommodation in the Govt. Home Science College, Sector -10, Chandigarh <em>(Expected No of</em> <em>seats 80)</em> and Govt. Home Science College Hostel, Sector -10 and Govt. Polytechnic College Hostel, Sector-10, Chandigarh. </h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> Our&nbsp; college does not hold any responsibility for accommodating any such students who choose to be considered for Govt. Home Science College Hostel, Sector -10 and Govt. Polytechnic College hostel, Sector-10, Chandigarh and later fail to get hostel seat there.&nbsp; </h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> As the authorities of above mentioned colleges consider <strong>our</strong> college students for accommodating them in their hostels <strong>after</strong> their own college admissions are over, candidates should make their personal arrangements of stay in the city for at least 2 weeks. </h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> Parents of the wards are advised not to approach the Sector 10 authorities during this period and until the list of recommended students reaches there. </h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><strong>&nbsp;PROCEDURE FOR RECOMMENDATION TO THE SECTOR 10 HOSTELS </strong></h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> List of candidates will be prepared on the basis of <strong>Merit </strong>and sent to the Principals of the above mentioned colleges with favourable recommendation for Hostel accommodation.</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> A copy of the list of recommended students will be displayed in our college also.</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> The recommended candidates will buy Hostel Form from the allotted college and submit it there after filling it up.</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> Students will be governed by the hostel rules and hostel fee structure of the college where they are allotted the hostel seat.</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><strong>Hostel &nbsp;&nbsp;Rules </strong></h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> The student will be allotted the hostel room when she reports to the hostel authorities in the hostel on the <u>Orientation Day </u>i.e. one day before the commencement of the college classes. </h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> It is mandatory for the new students and their parents to be present on the Orientation Day, on which they will be acquainted with the hostel staff and apprised of the Hostel rules and code of conduct. Only under unavoidable circumstances the parents may seek permission to miss the Orientation Day. (For the date of Orientation Day please refer to the schedule of Admission)</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> At the time of hostel admission, parents are advised to inform the hostel authorities of any chronic ailment from which the student may be suffering, so that they are better equipped and prepared to handle, such emergencies. In case this fact is concealed from the authorities at the time of admission the college will not be responsible for any emergency that may arise. Students are advised not to indulge in self medication, if they do so, they will be responsible for the consequences.</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> Students are required to bring their own bedding, bed-linen and door curtain. The other required items e.g. locks, buckets, mugs, bulbs, dusters etc are also available in the college tuck shop.</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> Furniture will be issued to the resident students against their signatures. Student will be responsible for any breakage or loss of furniture issued to her.</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> Hostel students are not allowed to use any personal electric appliance. In case of a defaulter, strict action will be taken and the appliance will be confiscated. They are also warned not to tamper with electrical fittings. The college will not be responsible for any mishap.</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> The college does not take any responsibility for any action of any girl which proves fatal or is detrimental to her social reputation.</h5> <h5>&nbsp;</h5> <h5><img src="images/arrow_small.gif" width="6" height="5" /> The college does not take responsibility of valuables, especially mobile phones and excessive cash of resident students.
